Hi, I'm looking for some Load Sharing Across Networked Computers application.

It should run under windows biggrin.gif

We have all, at some point or other, been in the situation where starved of CPU power we will wistfully look at a colleague’s underused, idle workstation sitting on their desk, connected to the same network and ponder the possibility of sneaking in and borrowing some of those spare CPU cycles.

Did you try DFS (distribution file system) ?

Um...Distributed (e.g. domain based as apposed to stand alone) DFS is for redundancy, not load balancing.

Windows 2003 has load balancing included, all you have to do is turn it on. However, what you are looking for is distributed computing, not load balancing. It doesn't exist for general applications. Citrix tried to get it working a few years back, but never succeeded.

As for DFS, it's not even really for redundancy - it's to have a cental repository for files on multiple servers. It's not actually redundant at all in and of itself, but can be made so by adding in the use of the File Replication service.
