Hey everyone, I was using fraps yesterday to take some video of gaming in battlefield vietnam, and its a 12 second video and its 243 MB's, how do I make this thing smaller like 20 MB? Thanks in advance.

You need to compress it, with a codec such as Xvid or Divx.

Free application would be Microsoft Windows Media Encoder to reencode as WMV

I'll try that out, thanks.

or, easiest way, open Windows Movie Maker, import the 200MB Files, Export and it'l let you choose what size you want.

Smaller Size --> Lower Quality

is that a good way to do it? I dont have very good understanding of however big my file is to start out with how big should I make it, I've been using windows media encoder and making about a 950 mb file about 20 megabytes, with "ok" video quality, in the media encoder opitions where I can choose like hi defionation and it makes the file kinda big, like 60 megs, I usally do for the video "DVD quality video (1 Mbps VBR)" and for the audio "CD quality audio (VBR)" and sometimes I'll choose "DVD quality video (2 Mbps VBR)" for better quality, Iam not sure if Iam supose to use VBR or CBR type for the audio and video type

Windows Movie Maker, in my experience, takes longer to do the same thing.

I dont understand

Windows Movie Maker is for making home videos. Taking multiple videos, and merging them.

Windows Media Encoder is basically just for converting videos to WMV format.
Gabe
