A little while ago, a great program named Catchup existed. This program was later bought by CNET and discontinued. The progarm would scan your computer and the check the web for updates to each program it recognized.

In any case, the question is: Does a similar program exist? I know many applications have "autoupdate," but many others do not.

CatchUp was a great program, but c|net abandoned it awhile ago. Probably due to it being too much work too maintain such a freeware product.

I thought PC Pitstop did something similar, but as I look at the site it appears that's not the case.

McAfee had a program called Oil-Change. That too was abandoned just like First-Aid. Oil-Change never really worked anyway, it always told me to update Winamp to version 2.666 even though I had 2.9 rolleyes.gif

Ah yes, Oil-Change! That's the one I was actually trying to think of earlier. Not PC Pitstop.

I used to have Oil-Change. It just .... sucked.

Too many programs change too often to keep it good
