Iam looking for some software to monitor my temperature of my pc, speedfan wont read my cpu, motherboard monitor doesent list my board in the install so I guss it doesent support my motherboard, so those two are ruled out

I'll ask the obvious. What mainboard do you have?

I'd suggest Coolmon, but it works with MBM...at least it used to. It may not anymore..
motherboard is Soltek SL-K8TPro-939, btw should I get coolmon 1 or 2?
I emailed the maker of speedfan and told him my problem, that speedfan can read everything but my cpu so hes helping me out with that so I might not need anything

It is possible your board doesn't have temp sensors. Not common, but my friends board (can't remember brand/model for the life of me) doesn't have any temp sensors whatsoever.

Well to follow up Sinbad's concern, does your BIOS at least report the CPU/motherboard temperature?

SpeedFan just can't read that one yet. The author does update the program a lot so he might get it working soon.
Chugworth just answered your question in that link taco and sinbad

Indeed, was just something good to make sure of though.

Try out
Everest, it has a sensor section which reports my cpu and board temps where the others won't.
*edit* added link.

GPU?, I thought it was the cpu temp you were after

unless gpu was a typo.....

Well you never said so until you threw it slyly in at the end madman!
lol
GPU must have a temp diode on the card to report temp. what card do you have? only a few cards have it
bfg geforce 6800, and it has a temp sensor, but the latest drivers have a bug where it isent the true temp
look.
i've said it before, i'll say it again.
TEMPS.
DO.
NOT.
MATTER.
if it's stable, it's cool enough.
forget about it!

Umm, he's right. The hardware will become unstable long before it hits it's physical operating tempature limits.
thank you

IMHO, people are far, far, FAR too concerned about overcooling their system, and there are plenty of manufacturters out there who are milking the morons.
the ONLY times you need to worry about temps are when overclocking and when modding your system to be silent, and you run into stability issues.

Indeed.. that's not to say cooling isn't important. But the included stock OEM coolers should 95% of the time be sufficent for normal operation. And also cooler tempatures can help OC futher, so in that case better cooling may be better.

I think everyone is fine with not monitoring temps .... it's good at first once you build your computer, but once you see they are fine then who cares?
