A minor security update for Mozilla Firefox has been released.

Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2 fixes a buffer overflow flaw in the GIF image processing code. More information can be found in the Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2 Release Notes and we expect that the Mozilla Foundation Security Advisories page will be updated soon. Download Firefox 1.0.2 from the Firefox product page.

Anyone notice that when you install the update, you have Firefox 1.0.1, 1.0.2, etc in Add/Remove Programs

@dkreifus: Yes, they put a new uninstall record with each setup. I've been lazy with this long term Windows test installation, so I have a whole chain of 'em going back to v0.8 due to it being re-branded around that point. wink.gif

That's why I uninstall Firefox before installing the new version. It will still keep all your settings - just don't delete the Firefox directory. cool2.gif

Here's a nice lil tip:

go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox

in regedit and delete any older versions of firefox example 1.0.1 wink.gif

best to uninstall any previous versions if you don't want those entries in add/remove or just use crap cleaner to get rid of the entries.
