Are these .old and .bak files on any windows xp computer safe to delete? Cause I dont want to entirely trust a website i'm not familiar with.

what's generating them?

normally it's a backup of a premodifed file that, err, a lot of questionalble programs make before modifying it. so if something breaks you rename the .bak to the original extension.

I keep them on my computer, mainly for backup purposes, and I have enough HDD space to not worry abou them. Why do you want to delet them?

The only programs I know of that create such files are exe crackers. I think they are safe to delete.
