A new version of Nero has been released.

Nero 6.6.0.14
    New Features
  • Added support of layer jump recording for DVD-R DL
    Other Changes/Bugfixes
  • Writing a UDF/ISO bridge compilation with enabled multisession option could fail with an error
  • Transcoding of some *.wav files to Ogg Vorbis crashed Nero in some cases
  • Quick erase of a blank media could end with an error message on specific hardware
  • An inserted background image for a LightScribe label appeared to be very jagged if the DPI setting was selected to automatic
  • Nero now always uses UDF 1.02 as default for DVD DL media if BAO or multisession are written
  • Improved usability for DVD-Video compilation. Now the VIDEO_TS folder is opened per default so a drag and drop action will add the files to the correct folder

# Added support of layer jump recording for DVD-R DL

Good feature for DL burning if I'm thinking right what it is.

No.. Layer Jump recording. There's two ways to burn a dual layer disc. The first way is to burn the first layer, inside to outside, then on the next layer start again from the inside. This can introduce a pause in dvd movie while the drive is seeking back to the beginning. Jump layer recording is burning the first layer inside to outside, then starting the second layer on the outside, thus no seeking.

My local Wal-Mart actually carries the 3-pack Verbatim DVD+R DL. I couldn't believe it.

6 bucks a disc, UGH! (plus shipping)

I'd rather make one disc of the movie, and one of the extras if I wanted them that bad.

But that is down a bit from before. It'll never come down enough to be economically feasible, with HD-DVD and BluRay right around the corner.

Well what's bad is when you make a Dual-Layer coaster. I have four of them. One of my drive's firmware upgrades actually caused an incompatibility with some Pengo DVD+R DL disks.

Those Verbatim disks work great though. I can burn a 2.4x disk at 6x without any problems. I mostly use DVDs for archiving files, so I like being able to fit more per disk.

wow, the only place i've seen with more than 3 discs:

but $120, yikes sad.gif
Pi Is A Rational
can't you apparently mod some DVD-/+RW drives into DL drives with a few firmware hacks?

Lucky sod, it's extremely hard to find DL DVD-/+Rs here. (UK). Even when I do find them they cost a bomb - and only for 5 discs!

I still can't seem to make a .nrg out of a dual layer disc.

Can anyone else make a .nrg file, otherwise you need two dual layer burners to actually copy disc to disc.

They have some decent prices on the +R's, on the 25+ as low as $4.99 each.
