Die Musiker der Nachwuchshärtner SCUMGRIEF fühlen sich vom neuen Metalli-Werk so sehr ans Beinkleid gepinkelt, dass sie das Scumgrieffest, ein Metal-Happening am 5. Juli in Indianapolis mit sieben lokalen Acts, spontan zu einer "Anti-Metallica-Demonstration" umfunktionieren wollen. Jeder Festival-Besucher kann seine Kopie von "St. Anger" gegen eine CD mit unveröffentlichten Stücken und Demosongs der auftretenden Bands eintauschen, und die gesammelten Metallica-Silberteller werden vor dem Set des Headliners Scumgrief öffentlich vernichtet.
»Der Protest ist als gezieltes Statement gegen eine Band gerichtet, die es sich in letzter Zeit zur Gewohnheit gemacht hat, ihre Fans zu betrügen«, begründet Scumgrief-Fronter Jason Lekberg die ungewöhnliche Aktion. »Wer Metal wie wir anhand des bisherigen Schaffens von Metallica definiert, kann "St. Anger" und Metallicas Verhalten in den letzten paar Jahren nur als Schlag ins Gesicht empfinden. Aber wenn diese Typen erwarten, dass wir ihren Haufen Dreck einfach so hinnehmen, haben sie sich schwer getäuscht.«

Jo, Metallica-Alben gibt es sicher bessere als das neue! Soviel Steht fest! Zum Beispiel Master of puppets! Aber sag mal ein paar Bands, die dir im Metal-Bereich gefallen! Würd mich interessieren!
