that's shitty, one audio application at a time? who sits there and thinks "well, i have to make sure nothing else is running so my audio doesn't sound like crap"

any idea if they'll have a fix for it? i really was going to get a powerbook

i spoke at length with apple support about this. apparently they are working on a fix for this, the level 2 technician agreed with me that the posted workaround was ridiculous, but said that there was a patch on the way. the suggested workaround does not work for me - i get the problem occasionally even when running only one application.
