Mahmoud is nuts. Israel will decimate them. In fact, the U.N. might go offensive, just so Israel doesn't... cause Israel historically exercises extreme prejudice in dealing with opponents. We may have to mobilize to prevent "Iran" from becoming "I'm running."

and the real issue is no ground war should be fought on more fronts than divisions of your ground forces. the Nazis had two, and they tried to cover three fronts. If they had three divisions, they would have been fine, but the troop movements were absolutely dismal, and the low numbers led to epidemics of poor morale.

if America goes making mischief in Iran (as in bombing the shit out of them), I highly doubt Iran is goign to say "oh shit, better get Israel instead of defending ourselves first!"

Remember the first Gulf war when Saddam launched scud missiles to Israel. Military that made no sense whatsoever, but it certainly gained him support in the streets of the Middle-Eastern cities.

And this is just the same: they all love to trash Israel, and what else can they say? That they will send elite-troops to Washington for guerilla? This is all part of the big game: "who can shout the loudest".

If the US goes to war with Iran, especially without global support again (and I mean more than the Iraq coalition), then yes, there will definitely be a draft. Hell, even if we have the UN and global support, there will probably be a draft, just not as large. There's no way around it. We're stretched for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan as it is. A draft right NOW would probably do us well. You add a third war, especially one that could be very large and draw in more countries to both sides...and people will start packing for Canada. I'm not sure if I would go or not if drafted...depends on a number of things.
