A Pentagon statement said 1,972 of those who died were killed in action.

The campaign group Iraq Body Count estimates that the number of civilians killed since the outset of the conflict ranges between 38,355 and 42,747.

It makes its calculation on the basis of media reports, and believes it to be a conservative estimate.

Other reports put the number of civilian casualties much higher.

Thousands of Iraqi security forces, military personnel from other countries, and Iraqi and foreign insurgents have also died.

In past wars people died for a worthy cause, not to wag the dog.

All I can say is this:

Not only should we be burdened by the loss of our brothers and sisters in this war...and we should all pray that their families will deal with their tragic losses respectively.

We should also pray for the other lives that have been lost...even if they were our enemies. Love thy enemy. I know it is hard; however we should respect the fact that human life is valuable and we should not stray away from the fact that if we were in their position we would fight for a cause that we believed deeply was something to die for. I mean that is what the soldiers are fighting for right?

I just recently talked to a friend who is out in Iraq. He called me paying 2 dollars a minute to let me tell everyone on here the conversation:

and I quote:

Tell those guys you talk to on the net, on that political forum thingie you said you type on from time to time this. Man, its seriously hard for me, I'm away from my wife with a possibility never seeing her again. I'm doing my duty and that is that. I'm not complaining like some people do, but then again I can see their point. There are a lot of soldiers out here that think this war is wrong. I have to say more and more each day I agree with them. Its not necessarily as bad as the media makes it out to be, in fact, its no where near as bad. I think that we should pull out as soon as possible. People are out here looking for help, they do not like men with machine guns running around, they want peace, plain and simple. I mean...I wanted to be out here to help, but we are all standing here with our hands in our pockets and getting shot at because we are not liked here at all. I almost took a bullet in the shoulder when it hit me that I could have taken that bullet and died in some horrific way. The truth is that the deaths of the soldiers could have been prevented drasitcally, because they did not train me or the others out here properly. They just yelled at us for two weeks in boot camp and then sent us on our merry way. They don't care anymore really...they are just sending out bodies..and that is that.

I pray for his return...

I'll also pray for the soldiers to make it safetly during the war....no lives are worth more than others.

Just like the Iraqi family mourn for their loved ones..the American family do too.

May God bless all!

...blink....
ok....first we the american people wanted war. i remember the news right after twin towers. people cried out for revenge. and the president gave us what we wanted. then as soon as it started. no one had the balls to stand up for it anymore.

now should we pull out yah i think so. and we are doing it now. they have instituted plan to pull out all troops over the next 6-10 months i believe it was. so dont get your knickers in a twist.

as to your buddy @man1k3n ..... under trained?????? what service is he???? and two weeks??? yah right.
jarhead jay is in the marine reserves and he's going in for 13 weeks of boot camp. then he goes back for another month for weapons training. then he has yet another month for job training. dont tell me that you didnt get enough training. now your just makin excuses.
