Well i got these asf files, and i want them to convert to avi, i tried "WinAVI Video Converter" yet i stops @ frame 1

if i play these ASF files i'm unable to select in the time frame were to start... it just starts at the beginning, and it keeps on running towards the end, only the start/stop buttons works, i am able to to forwind & reverse ONLY inC player...

p.s. i could use fraps (it can read the stuff yet it'll take ages... all stuff needs to be re-encoded 1:1 then...

Download Video Fixer and use it to 'Fix' the ASF file. You will now be able to select the time frame.

Well it's always worked for me :\ You could always try this software.

avisynth works wonders, it creates a directx wrapper of sorts, and in the background, plays the file and forwards the directx output to the other app thats trying to read it directly

with not workin i mean, it went mostly in a flash to 80% and then nothing, i frist though heck it might take a while so i want to see some friend and like 4 hours, i could still see the hdd going like crazy, yet the bar would have not moved an extra inch...
