Norton 360 (codename GENESIS) is ready to test! Build 66 of Genesis has been posted to the "Genesis Builds" page for download. Keep in mind that this build is 43 MB, and may take a considerable amount of time to download.
Genesis ET1 Build 66
Before you install ET1, be sure to complete the below tasks:
1) Remove all other Symantec products (beta and released)
2) Create a backup of your system
3) Read the test script completely
Also, here are the known issues with Genesis ET1:
- Advanced settings firewall page is unresponsive when you click OK, or Apply
- Online backup is disabled
- Unable to burn to DVD (can't close disc)
- Unable to burn to DVD-RAM
- Unable to burn to MO
- Burning to CD is slow
- Reboot required if latest msiexec isn't on system (to run cfgwiz)
- Report pages aren't fully hooked up
- Placeholders are in place for help documents
build must be installed on a clean system (no other symc products installed)
- Cfgwiz wont complete on vista 5520
- All UI pages don't contain consistent visual styling

Put out a little information on what it actually is, instead of just posting build notes? Is it Norton GiveMeVirus for Vista, or what?

Thats all we could "legally" post. If we gave you more info (especially because our emails are found right in our profiles) we would be violating the Beta terms agreement.

haha
http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/pr...60/features.jspSeems like a combination product. I guess neXioz could say it's Norton GiveMeVirus, Norton GiveMeSpyware, Norton InviteHackers, Norton ExposeMyData, and Norton MakeMeThinkImBackedUp.

Well, based on my experiences through the years, Norton has been nothing but problems. Everything from major performance issues to bad protection.
But what do you know, maybe this stuff will be alright.
Thanks for the link. I hope you won't get suspended for telling me what it is

Genesis ET2 ready to test! Build 74 of Genesis has been posted to the "Genesis Builds" page for download. Keep in mind that this build is 43 MB, and may take a considerable amount of time to download. Before you begin testing, please read the test script in its entirety.
Just as with ET1, when you login to the website, you will be given an "Activation Key", which will be stored in the "Resources" section of the Genesis project. This key will be used to install and activate Genesis, and should not be used by any other person or for any other purpose.
For this release, we would like you test with other released Symantec products. Please be sure to note in your Incident Reports the exact version numbers tested, and the order in which products were installed/uninstalled. Also, we encourage you to test with Windows Vista build 5600, as well as Internet Explorer 7.
Be sure to restore the backup of your system which you created before testing Genesis. Uninstalling Genesis ET1 or deleting the registry keys manually is NOT a valid removal of Genesis. Please restore your system to a "pre-Genesis" state before you begin testing ET2.
And as always, please report all issues in the "Report an Incident" form, as well as all suggestions in the "Submit a Suggestion" form. Even if you read in the User Forums about another tester finding the same issue, you may have supplemental information to contribute to the problem, which speeds the resolution of the issue for future builds.
Finally, if you have any problems, please feel free to contact me either in the User Forums or by email at Tony_Weiss@Symantec.com. Have fun testing Genesis!

Genesis ET2 Build 74
Before you install ET2, be sure to complete the below tasks:
1) Restore the backup of your system that was created before ET1 was installed
2) Read the test script completely
Also, here are the known issues with Genesis ET2:
Multiple reboots required:
- if MSI is not installed prior to Genesis ET2 (+1 reboot)
- to launch the UI or configuration wizard; will not launch otherwise (+1 reboot)
- if the Quick Scan (AV + LU) locks (+1 reboot)
Account creation/login may not work
Cancel button doesn't close windows
Scan Details pages aren't all implemented, and as a result, clicking details may cause a crash (e.g. a crash in scanstub.exe)
AV scan may pause on its own
Online backup will fail
Launching a backup from the scans window only starts an AV/LU scan. (to start a backup, run it from tasks & settings -> Backup review/backup now/restore)
Weak Password Check displays as off, and is unable to be resolved
