Ok heres the deal I am new to MAC,
Install went fine from DVD. Upon reboot it shows a stop sign over the top of the gray apple. Wtf does this mean? I assume it means system will not boot (obvious) but ..........?
A very bad homemade error screen is attached. I could not fingure out how to take a screen shot on mac.
please help...

what else do you need? It Mac OS X 10.4.7 Intel based. Running on p4 1.7 1gbram 80gb 1000nic. Aso for the boot procedure thats is as far as I get. No other info then that.
What other info are you looking for?

Well that certainly helps some. Before I had no god damn clue whether or not you were talking about a real Mac or what. Jeez.
Anyways.. what motherboard do you have?
If you have a version of OSX that uses Darwin to boot, enter the boot parameters "-x -v". v is for verbose and usually gives an explanation of the failure. Or, it could be that OSX is installed on the wrong kind of partition (they differ for OSX and OSX86: OSX86 needs an active "FDISK" partition while OSX uses an Apple partition) in which case the OS would be unbootable. Probably best to wipe the partition clean with Partition Magic or similar and put it in FAT32 and start over with the OSX install. The Apple install software is not very good at changing partition types and active status once it is messed up. Start over.
