Ok, we all hear how the US sucks, and Iraq is a disaster, but rarely do we hear of the other stuff...

Like the agreement of the Indigenous Sunni Tribal forces addition of 30,000 troops on the Syrian borders in some of the bloodiest conflict areas of the Al-Anbar province , a place most reporters won't be caught dead in.

This essentially means some 80% of the forces in the area have finally resigned to conform to the democractic model, and will hesitantly accept the shi'a dominated government. It is largely believe most of the sunni that held back votes had no faith in the process, or they would likely have made an effort to beat out the Shi'a election response, which was suprisingly large.

The tribal forces will seek a military end to the Al Qaeda influence in the area through direct personal combat, where they have the unquestionable advantage of superior knowledge of the area, formidable training in ambush tactics, and the assistance of US and Iraqi military efforts. No doubt, they will still have some conflict with the Shi'a dominated governement, but they finally feel secure it will last, and will seek an official position of partisan approach and seek election support, not civil resistance efforts.

For all the horror of war and death of innocents, there is always a turning point when you stay the course. If you do not reach that point the war is pointless. As for that turning point; this could well be it.
