Because that makes sense... they make the Beta Windows Defender and Microsoft AntiSpyware for Windows 2000 yet when they release the full version it doesn't support it. How does that make sense? I mean I know the life of Windows 2k is near an end but come on it's an anti spyware program and it's not like it doesn't already run on 2k pro sp4 anyways. Another scam to get people to upgrade.. good thing I still have beta 2 kicking around... and installed on my win 2k pro machine. Thats really retarded IMO.

Edit: Someone that has it installed would you mind zipping the install files and sending them to me? Or let me know about a util that will "unzip" the msi file... winrar won't do it. just wanted to test if it'll run anyways.

Edit:

msiexec /a "C:\MyMsi.msi"

works wonders.... *tries to run it*

Time to test out AVG AntiSpyware... it's free too

@Scott: I forgot about that trick with the /a switch, so thanks for the reminder.

Windows Defender (Beta 2) has an expiration date.

Yeah, I realized that too after poking around in the program. Using AVG AntiSpyware, works great so far.

So WinDefender is now final...Cool. The main question now is; can I figure out a way of explaining to the boss that I "Need" to surf porn at work...in the intrest of "Product Testing"...

...After all I am the Admin... (hehe)

Tell him your gonna test the internal filters that are meant to block out porn. Tell him that you don't want to be distrubed, and you'll need a box of kleenex.
