Full Version: [HELP] Roller Coaster Tycoon Not working

I'm Running Windows 2000 Service pack 4. I want to play Roller Coaster Tycoon on it but It gives me this error message

What do I do to get it to work? I tried compatibility mode but that didnt work.

Why are you running it on Windows 2000? You should use Windows XP.

If you must run Windows 2000, make sure you have all the updates (including DirectX updates). Also, make sure the account you are using has administrator access on the machine. I don't know if that's required for the game, but it's something else to check.

Make sure you have the latest patch for RCT1:

Original (Without Added Attractions/Corkscrew Follies or Loopy Landscapes)
RCT1 + Added Attractions/Corkscrew Follies
RCT1 + Loopy Landscapes

These patches are not needed if there is an Infogrames/Atari logo on the box.

These patches enable play on Windows 2000/Windows XP. RCT1 works on Vista as well with this patch. smile.gif

It was bought in 1999 so chances are it doesn't have the patch with it. Thanks!

I prefer Win2000 over XP, Also my computer lags really badly with XP.
