Apple Inc., Beatles' Apple Corps. reach new agreement over use of 'Apple' trademark and logo.

Apple Inc. and The Beatles' company Apple Corps. have reached a new trademark agreement, the companies said Monday.

The statement announcing the agreement made no mention of any accord on the downloading of Beatles' songs.

The agreement brings an end to the ongoing trademark lawsuit between Apple Inc., creator of the iPod digital music player and Macintosh line of computers, and Apple Corps. over the use of the name "Apple" and the apple logo.

Apple Corps. is the group which holds the Beatles' business interests.

Cupertino-Calif.-based Apple will own all trademarks related to "Apple" under the deal and will license some of those trademarks to Apple Corps.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"It feels great to resolve this in a positive manner, and in a way that should remove the potential of further disagreements in the future," Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs said in a statement.
