OK so ill start by telling you what we got running.

1 print server on win2k3
a CITRIX presentation 4.5 server
and a program called Solomon aka (MS Dynamics SL)

So here is our problem, solomon (an MS Product) will not accept printers longer then 25 characters long (WTF is with that) we push solomon to our users through CITRIX

anyway our network naming convention was set up to work around this for example "\\cgy-print-1\PR001001".

now the problem is some printers (we dont know why) keep getting the fully qualified domain name "\\cgy-print-1\pr001001.xxxxxx.local" and some don't.

we have done it as auto mappings and unmappings at time of log in, we have done it on a per user basis.

i guess is there some way to force the names not to have the fully qualified domain name?

any other suggestions would be nice as well
