If i abort th above error, i get another one..

Assert in LSP

NULL object pointer being derefernced

c:\src\googleclient\total_recall_r4_en\common\shared_memory_ptr.h:188

[/b]

it starts after i abort this one also..

but everytime i open google, IE crashes,

I have been tryin to install IE from microsoft but it doesnt let me download a setup for vista by tellling me tht already hav IE7 pre installed in Vista.

What does your event log say? but like above from what you have for info there it looks like its a Google add on issue, Google desktop or Google toolbar maybe.

you could also try going to the "internet options" in IE and go to "Advanced" and reset all IE7 settings.

Exactly the same problem as described above. Nothing helps.
All started when i installed Skype with google toolbar add 4 IE.
Killed skype - nothing.
Killed google toolbar - nothing.
Downloaded&installed latest google bar - nothing.
Did a reset 4 IE settings - nothing.

My event log says (translated from russian):
Failed application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16643, timestamp 0x47bce1b0, failed module GOEC62~1.DLL, version 0.0.0.0, timestamp 0x440c98c1, exception code 0x80000003, error shift 0x000051a5, process ID 0x13c4, application launch time 0x01c8b40bbdae5206.

But there is no GOEC62~1.DLL...

Also it reports this (translated from russian):
Failed application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16643, timestamp 0x47bce1b0, failed module kernel32.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, timestamp 0x4549bd80, exception code 0xc0000005, error shift 0x000494c4, process ID 0xba0, application launch time 0x01c8b43a3e354340.

This is really annoying... If only someone could help... plz...

Do a search for GOEC62* and see if that finds it. The ~1 thingy is to denote that the file has a name longer than 8 characters - which is probably why the thing keeps breaking. Names on system files like DLLs should always be under 8 characters.

I suggest Advanced search and check "Include non indexed, hidden...." to also search system areas of Vista. wink2.gif
