I was wondering if any of you Tivo owners had Vista and converted videos on the computer for play on the Tivo.
I've been trying WinAVI and it seems to crash the moment I load a Divx video into it. I tried Videora, and the audio comes out as a high pitched squeal sound...
So at the moment..I'm stumped.

Tivo Desktop 2.5 Plus (the $25 version) will convert on the fly most formats, like DIVX, WMV and mpeg4. I can't say how well it works, tho, as I only have a Tivo HD and it doesn't work with it yet.

On principal...I am against that. I already pay them, now they want more. Especially for stuff that should be free. But I guess it may have to be done.

Yeah, I've been considering upgrading to Plus to make that conversion process easier, but haven't taken the plunge as of yet. I think I'll be doing it soon though now that it's fall.
I'm still on XP though dk, so can't help ya there.
