Hah! It's not uncommon for the media to take quotes from Rush Limbaugh's show and spin them out of context. This time, he got them for it! laugh.gif

This is about Rush's "phony soldiers" comment. The comment was about Jesse MacBeth, and anti-war activist who lied about his military record. Yet, the media and senate liberals tried to spin the story into making it sound like Rush was talking about all soldiers who were against the war. 41 senate liberals (including Reid, Clinton, and Obama) all signed a smear letter which was sent to the CEO of Clear Channel (Rush's radio broadcaster). So the CEO of Clear Channel gave the letter to Rush, and Rush auctioned the letter on Ebay (complete in a Halliburton briefcase), saying that the final sale price will be donated to the Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation.

Well the letter sold for $2.1 million dollars, and Rush matched that price, giving the MC-LEF a total of $4.2M. This basically forced the media to report the whole, correct story. Harry Reid even tried to take some of the credit on the Senate floor this morning! laugh.gif

Well they showed the total amount of the donations, not the total number of donations. In last count, his total donations from military voters was $63,440, with an average donation size of $500... Do the math, and that comes to about 127 donations. Not exactly impressive numbers...

How many people actually donate money to candidates anyway? The amount of money they receive is really no measure of their popularity.
