Full Version: Astroburn - A new free burning program

The makers of Daemon Tools have announced a partnership with Astroburn, a new free burning application. If you're wanting to get away from the Nero bloatware, then you should give this program a try. The download size is about 4 MB. Like Daemon Tools, it uses the SPTD driver, which requires a reboot when you first install it.

ImgBurn is still smaller and does not require the SPTD driver. However, the advantage of Astroburn is that it has an easier to use interface, so it would be a good program for people who are not exactly computer experts.

And like Daemon Tools, don't forget to decline the toolbar installation.

Yeah, I still prefer ImgBurn myself. But if I'm working on someone's computer and they need a good burning program, I'll probably give them Astroburn because it has a friendlier interface.

Thanks,
I'll give both of these a look over.

Edit:
Tried both. What crap!! I'll stick with the overly bloated Nero!!

Rumor has it that Audio CD is coming in the next version of ImgBurn.... wink2.gif

Of course, for audio CDs you could just use Windows Media Player, since it's already on the system.

Windows Media Player? On my system? NEVER!

But, I love apps like Burrrn. Simple, concise, effective.

Huh, interesting... It downloaded fine back when I posted this, but now NOD32 stops it. I think it's a false-positive though, maybe because of the optional toolbar that I mentioned in the first post.
