I just bought a new laptop and got what i think is a pretty good deal the laptop is an hp dv6707us here's a link along w/the price i paid for it http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-Pavilion...roductDetail.do the computer is great along w/the price i paid in my opinion, my question is what are some things i can do to get a little more speed out of it and help clean up some of the junk on it. I know vista takes up a lot of storage along w/a lot of memory, when i opened it up the 160gb had actually had shown as 137gb as the max, and so did all the store models i looked at, so i'm assumming that is from vista installed, but the acutal space available on this model is about 110gb after all the window, hp, extra software on it, i managed to get about 113gb after removing some things like the sims game, aim, and some yahoo stuff, the 2gb of ram is nice, but similar to the harddrive it seems vista uses a lot of it, i mainly use this for school but i also play an online game called everquest, now i just loaded up the game along w/some of my own software, songs, etc, and i'm at ab out 70gb of storage left, my quetion is what are some basic things i can do to help free up some more storage space, and help get a little more speed out of the computer for when playing games, it really plays all my games fine, but i just want that extra little bit incase i need it. thanks.

http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/ That will help out a bit and remove a bunch of crap you don't use. I usually just do a clean install of Windows if i buy a machine preloaded with it. Then you can only install what you want.

Oh, and you probably will not see the full HDD space because there is a hidden recovery partition, another reason why I format and do a clean install.
