I have a SCSI HDD (ST373405LC) 73GB 10000RPM and I am having some issues with it.

The Controller is reporting a "Start Request Unit Fail" whenever the drive spins up.

The HDD is out of warranty so it's no big deal, but If I can recover data off it then it'd be nice.

Any suggestions as to what the problem is? Windows only recognises it in device manager. The drive spins up. the heads dont seem to be broken nor can i find any mechanical failure. I'm thinking it might be the controller but I dont know.

Might want to get a SCSI to IDE adapter and try it on the IDE cable and see if that works. At least you might be able to get some data off of it.
