Either that or the silence is your answer. There has been so much propaganda spun in all directions that the "truth" has become impossible to find.
Perhaps in a hundred years someone will assemble the facts into a retrospective outline of what really happened ... but doubts will most likely still be raised.
There is no clear objective, so it cannot be "won".
There are no clear goals, so it cannot be finished.
There are no clear reasons, so it cannot be explained.
It's a waking nightmare as far as I'm concerned.

Okay Brains, five years on, are you ready for this? This might come as a shocker... The plan to liberate Iraq was flawed to begin with. Where we went wrong was with the whole idea of "liberating." We incorrectly assumed that a working government would rise up out of nowhere, and we did not take into account the many years it would take for one to form.
And now at this point we have two choices: We could maintain a military presence there for years to come until the country gains control of itself (which would certainly be gradual and not an "event"), or we could pull out now and let total chaos erupt.
So was it worth it? Well after all that we've put into that country, we should at least gain the rights to some oil fields or something....

it is a shocker! off all persons I would have supposed you'd bring up one of the only advantages still remaining: getting rid of Saddam. you didn't!

Well sure, there were advantages and good reasons to take Saddam out of power. But looking back now, I do wonder if it was really worth the lives and money that we have put into that place. One thing that I am sure of though is that pulling out the troops all at once would be a very bad decision. Whether or not you agree with the reasons for going in, we are there now, so it is our responsibility to try and keep the country from descending into chaos.

5 years ago.....
Five years ago I actually believed many of the "evidence" and "proof" that Saddam was getting ready to open a can of whipass. So, yeah I bought the show and thought it was a justifiable war.
Fife years on, I've been lied to, spun, turned upside down, then dumped on the floor for our electorates to piss on.
Every pitch in the sales book for this was has been now found to be completed fabricated, And it's damn right criminal. Maybe I'm jaded and just so frakin' mad, but I want every single person that holds an office in D.C. to be dragged and tossed out by their ears.
But, feeling how I am now, I don't support just picking up and leaving. It would be a complete disaster. The civil war WILL get worse and we'll see more open meddling by Iran and other surrounding regional country's. What really needs to happen is for us to make the people of Iraq to stand up and take their country and start build and securing their future as we begin to wind down our operational authority.

Wasn't and hasn't been worth it since day one!! Bush is a numb nut moron, who didn't have a clue along with all his "advisors."
The dip s**t should've never gotten into office the first time, let alone get re-elected, but that just shows you how ill advised most Americans are.
There were no WMD's and we got Saddam. So what are we still doing there? Like the Skid Row song from years ago, let's "Get the F**k Out!!
Maybe we need someone to come over here and kick our a**, and do the same thing to this retarded Bush?!!
The U.S. has become a laughing stock to the rest of the world, and I don't blame them a bit!
