So for quite some time now I have been interested in the Microsoft fingerprint reader. But I never have got it because it doesn't support 64-bit Windows. And now, over one year after the release of Vista, the damn thing STILL does not support 64-bit Windows. That's just outrageous. It's made by Microsoft MICROSOFT, yet it lacks 64-bit support! wtf.gif

So recently I have been looking around for an alternative fingerprint scanner, and I found a great one. It's the UPEK Eikon Digital Privacy Manager. They have drivers for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista. And I love how simple the drivers are. The 64-bit Vista driver consists of three files, totaling 75.6K.

Not only that, but the password management software that it comes with is even compatible with Firefox through an extension that you can load. When you go to a website, you just enter in your username and password. Then swipe your finger, and you can add that site to your list so you will no longer have to enter the password. Their password management application has other abilities also, such as creating encrypted files and launching different applications based on the finger that you swipe. I could right-click on a file and have it create an encrypted version. It then gives me the option of wiping the original file. Now when I double-click on the encrypted file, it asks me to swipe my finger before it will open. You could also put multiple files into a single encrypted file.

Overall, this thing seems great and I highly recommend it. You can find it at Amazon.com.
