Mr Wilders' film is entitled Fitna, an Arabic word used to describe strife or discord, usually religious.

Mr Wilders wrote a commentary in a Dutch newspaper on Saturday.

"The film is not so much about Muslims as about the Koran and Islam. The Islamic ideology has as its utmost goal the destruction of what is most dear to us, our freedom," he wrote in De Volkskrant.

"Fitna is the last warning for the West. The fight for freedom has only just begun," he said.

He had been using Network Solutions to promote the film.

But on Sunday, Network Solutions said it had received a number of complaints that were under investigation.

It said the site was suspended until it was established whether the content of the site violated Network Solutions' terms of acceptable use.

They include "material that is obscene, defamatory, libellous, unlawful, harassing, abusive... hate propaganda" and "profane, indecent or otherwise objectionable material of any kind or nature".

Mr Wilders has had police protection since Dutch director Theo van Gogh was killed by a radical Islamist in 2004.

if cartoons have profound effects, I am all braced for the impact of this movie. seems like some have a death-wish. fear.gif

I do not like the guy, I do not like his views and I do not like his approach, although that is more emotional than rational. More a gut feeling than anything else.

Normally I would think nothing of this, but all these attempts at censoring his video are making me curious about what it could be. I don't know what's in his video, but if it's what I suspect, then let's see how well he is proven wrong.

Censorship is the cheapest, simplest, and stupidest form of free advertising there is.

Start a fracas = Draw a crowd...simple as that.

So the guy made a movie with a "heavy handed" approach to Islam, big f-ing deal. There is no reason that he should have his film censored and those that give in to the pressure to censor it are only making it easier to justify the act later.

Let us all give in to the pressure and allow every statement made that offends Islam, Catholicism, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, etc. be censored. Hell who ever said the internet was a place were people were able to express their views..... This is getting f-ing ridiculous, what a bunch of Ass-hats...

So far, nobody in the world has SEEN it yet; except for the maker himself!
All they know, is that it seems to be about Islam...
And look at all the commotion about 15 minutes of supposed film.
Weird...

as the main man in the Dutch "freedom party", he kind of contradicts himself. He called for a ban on the Koran for example, while his to be released movie reportedly (not sure here) calls for banning islam altogether from the Dutch society...

here's a bio.

FYI, the film was posted to LiveLeak.

FYI, the film was posted to LiveLeak.

Wow, 2.2 million views within the first day it was posted. And that's just the English version. blink.gif

It's basically just a compilation of events, speeches, statistics, and quotes. If you have followed the news, then it doesn't really seem like anything new. I know there are nutcases in every religion. But you have to admit, it does seem like this one has a very large wing of them...

Wow, look at what they have up today:

Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of British media that could directly affect the safety of some staff members, Liveleak has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers.

This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We would like to thank the thousands of people, from all backgrounds and religions, who gave us their support. They realized LiveLeak.com is a vehicle for many opinions and not just for the support of one.

Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one another's culture. We stood for what we believe in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high.

What a disgrace. You know, I've got to give Wilders credit for his bravery and refusal to be intimidated. You may wonder why he goes through so much trouble and even puts his life at risk. This is the reason.

This is a real shame!
Today, I am sad to be a member of this corrupted planet 'Earth'.
