Just thought I'd give a quick heads-up for those using the Safari browser.
I have yet to try it - last time was when I tried some beta build, and it crashed constantly.

I guess I'll try it later.

Why use another browser, while Firefox gets better and better...

Why use another browser, I ask, when there is Opera?
Phonics Monkey
I'll be sticking with IE thank you very much ... True Safari as the name implies would be an adventure, but I really just need to get things done.

I've been playing with this browser since their last update.
Not bad. VERY fast. In fact, FASTER than Opera, which I thought was impossible!

Only real thing it's missing really, is an adblocker. Just got this update before coming here.

Good thing for the update too:

Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Safari, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks or potentially to compromise a user's system.

1) An error exists in the handling of URLs containing a colon character in the host name. This can be exploited to conduct cross-site scripting attacks when a specially crafted URL is opened.

2) An integer overflow error exists in WebKit's regular expression compiler in JavaScriptCore/pcre/pcre_compile.cpp. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via specially crafted regular expressions with large, nested repetition counts.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code e.g. when a user visits a malicious web page.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 3.1.1.

Any other users enjoy Safari?
I've thought about trying it, but.
1)too many browsers already.
2) Apple 'forced' it down on users using Software Update, which I find to be in poor taste.
3)I'm happy with Firefox, and IE when needed

Smokey fuck, look at that anti-aliasing!
And it actually is fast, really fast.

Is it somehow possible to enable such font rendering with Windows itself? O____o

It looks as if you already have ClearType enabled. Check the Windows Power Toys. The ClearType tuner words on Vista even though it says it doesn't. I know because I'm using it right now. smile.gif

hmm... I just can't picture this browser ever becoming popular in Windows. It may be competition for Opera, but I just don't think it stands a chance against Firefox, or especially Internet Explorer.
Taco Bell
I agree Chug.
Danthe
It will never be a competition for Opera, as most professionals and deveopers use Opera.

I doubt it'll ever compete with anything on Windows, to be honest.
First thing they should do is make the anti aliasing the same as the rest of Windows, because it's confusing. And get rid of that ugly crappy skin.
And the settings are even more limited than IE! Heh.

Nothing fun at all.

It is really fast and the cleartype does seem a little "Amplified" compared to the Actual Windows Settings.

However the fact that it opens a window when you click a "_blank" page link and not new a tab in the current window (no way to change this!) turns me off this browser!

No thanks Apple! (You can keep your crappy skinned browser!)
