hi, can anyone recomend and on screen video recorder, i'm having a hard time finding a quality recorder that does what i want, that is one that will record on screen video and audio, one that will do on screen video as if i were do a demonstration of a software or something it records what my screen shows, along w/audio from a build in mic on my lap top, and one that will record from my built in web cam and mic. any sugestions on something reasonably priced? i've found some, mostly free ones that will do what i want, but the quality of the video or audio sux, others i've found wont do all what i want. if it did still screen shots that would be nice too, but the least of what i need. i have windows vista 32 bit also. thx

this does not seem to work very well with vista, i can get the microphone audio to work, but not the internal or speaker i guess is what you'd call it to work, i look at their trouble shooting page and i have none of the options listed, this software seems more design for xp, any better softwares available for VISTA?

Hmmm, if i find anything I'll certainly post it. Sorry :S. sad.gif.

Since Windows Vista's DWM runs through DirectX, FRAPS is able to capture it. And it does a fairly good job, also. You just check the box that says "Monitor Desktop Window Manager."

what do you mean by this?
Scott
Download FRAPS, since Fraps records games in DirectX... Windows Vista's Aero desktop (the effects, etc) run through DirectX as Chugworth said. So Fraps will be able to capture the screen no problem if you click the box in Fraps that says "Monitor Desktop Window Manager."
