Guys, we have a medical application here which users accessing it using remote desktop connection. the problem is that they suppose to use a shortcut with a saved password, so every time they open it its authenticate automatically, so sometimes roaming problem not working as expected, or for some reason its stop asking for authentication, so any recommendation or better ideas to make accessing this server more automate, and decrease the help desk calls.

try recreating the shortcut. sometimes mstsc messes them up for some reason...

is it a shortcut (as in .lnk) or a remote desktop file (as in default.rdp)?

this may be something in a group policy somewhere. any recent windows updates?

The password isn't saved in the .rdp file it's part of the users profile information. So it can't be saved once and then shared between multiple users. ...At least that's what I think XP is driving at.

Thre is an option to set the credentials at the TS for all users, but it will complicate things for admins because they will be subject to the same cred/restrictions.

Perhapps a GP that set the TS creds that was linked to the users group and denied by/for the admins group would work.

The problem is that, they are using more than one account, for instance each floor have its account like nrs-1, nrs-2 and so on, any other ideas ?
