Here is a good reason why McCain is going to loose the November election.

Not that either candidate is a very good choice (so what else is new?), I hardly doubt if this is going to be the reason McCain loses, if he does.

If you notice, now that the Democratic primaries are over, the media seems to be bashing Obama pretty good. The media KNOWS most Americans can't think for themselves anyore, so now they will really start to push their influence for one or the other now.

the whole system is weird to me.
popular vote should vote in the party with your views. then the educated members of the party choose a leader.
the way it's set up right now allows for too many personal issues to mess with the political message.

No, that's not why McCain is going to loose in November. McCain is someone that you can't trust. Just about every time you turn around he goes running to the left to gain media attention. He doesn't have the full support of his party, and that's what's going to really mess him up.

Come November, I'm not even going to vote. I don't like Obama or McCain, and I just can't vote for either one of them. Truth be known, Obama may be the better choice in the long run. Because after four years of Carter 2.0, we should have a good chance at getting a conservative the White House. The four years are gonna be tough, but we'll just have to get through them.

So we vote for the party and then let the "elite" choose who leads us? No thank you...

John McCain is 72 years old to start with. So he is a old man, just for that reasons he doesn't stand a chance.
If you don't vote, you are just making a mockery out of democracy as it is. But that is your choose.

Republicans are expecting a big loss in congress, it is also expected that they are going to loose the presidential run also. See more here on that.

I don't have time to give a full post, as I'm running late for work.

I'm not a big fan of Obama, but of all the democratic candidates, he was the one I liked. My favorite candidate was Ron Paul.

I surely don't want McCain to win, but I fear he may for a few reasons. (these are not my views, just some of societies)
1. middle America still believes the bogus myths about Obama. Him being muslim, him being anti-white, etc.
2. America, like much of the world is still racist in a way. They may not want a black, or half black person in office yet.
3. Many people, granted those who are ignorant, don't think Bush did anything wrong with Iraq.
4. Not enough voters come out. If everyone who could vote, did vote, the elections would be different.

I also think the electoral college is stupid. With current technology, we can do elections much better. If popular vote says a candidate wins, thats how it should be.

Not elite, just those voted by the public. and they wouldn't choose, they'd vote. and it wouldn't be electoral votes.
I'm just saying not enough people vote or some the people who do, aren't educated. They might pick who to vote for based on skin or sex (or they might choose against skin/sex).
Mind you, no system is perfect, and if it is, the execution isn't.
Also a highschool voting initiative would work well. Yes the age is 18, but a 16 year old in a Social Studies class probably has a better idea of what they want out of politics than the 22 year old burger flipper who could vote, but doesn't.

Well I don't think the eligible voters needs to be broader. If anything, it needs to decrease. The biggest problem with the system is that you have so much ignorance going in to the voting booths. People go in and vote based on appearance, what others tell them to vote for, or just pick names at random. Worthless! They have no idea what they're voting for. We almost need a mini-quiz of the issues at hand to determine if a person is eligible to vote. I guess the candidates would have to both agree over the questions asked. But in the end, no system is without serious flaws.

well when I was in high school, voting was such a cool idea. y'know, your voice changes the country etc. but you gotta wait to vote. wait two years until you aren't reading and discussing the news, and creating opinions like you would be, had you still been in a class teaching you all about the system. a quick eligibility quiz would be good but the pretty/well dressed/charming smile candidates would be against it rolleyes.gif
