i just installed XP SP3 and i thought that it installed IE7 with it, but i only have ie6. Was i wrong in assuming this or did something funky happen to me?
Thanks

That's normal, unfortunately. If you want IE7 integrated in, you will have to use a program like nLite which is unsupported, and kind of buggy. I had issues installing certain updates when I installed XP with a slipstreamed IE7. There's probably a way to fix that, but so far I have been too lazy to find one.

Yeah, MS doesn't want everyone to realize that they can have everything except DX10 on XP, that way people will never switch to Vista.
If IE7 is already installed on XP before SP3, it can't be deinstalled after SP3 was installed. If it is installed after SP3, it can.

Well, Microsoft is planning to make it easier to slipstream IE8 into Vista (no word on XP).
